Hi. I'm Emily,

a digital designer :)

Sutradhar Institute of Dance and Related Arts

Sutradhar Institute of Dance and Related Arts (SIDRA) is a local non-profit dance organization in Silver Spring, Maryland. Even though the main focus of classes are Kuchipudi, a traditional Indian dance style, they offer other disciplines and services that can be a fit for anyone who is insterested in art and spirituality. Being active since the 1980's, they are an established organization that stays active in their community. Their program manager reached out to me about updating their logo and website, and I managed to finish their brand guideline and a press kit but had to decline the website design due to time constraints.

The Cato T. Laurencin Institute for Regenerative Engineering

As the sole web and marketing associate for the department, one of my main responsibilities was to update our current website and create new pages when we introduced programs and events. Edits include transitioning to UConn's newest theme, Beecher-Stowe, adding hero banners for new pages, updating photos of faculty, staff, and students, and adhering to UConn's brand standards. All websites I've edited through a multi-site WordPress web content management system. Made with HTML and CSS.

In addition, I was responsible for all outreach materials coming from our Institute. That included the design process, implementation, and digital or print distribution.

Little Tiger Kung Fu Academy

Little Tiger is an upcoming Kung Fu school that wanted to have a more modern look as compared to their competitors. Typically, graphic design within the martial arts world is limited to fonts like Chop Suey or something involving brush strokes to match a stereotypical and orientalist "Asian" aesthetic. With Little Tiger Kung Fu, I was able to combine the fitness aesthetics to that of martial arts (tiger and sword).

Convexity Scientific

Working with Convexity Scientific Inc, my classmates and I were in charge of creating an "informational" video for one of their products: the Flyp nebulizer. I was on motion graphics duty along with a couple others. Our goal was to film and add graphics on top which provided medical information as well as marketable terms that Convexity provided.
